Clergy Robe Bags
If you are a member of the clergy and you travel often then you may need to think about properly caring for your vestments and robes as you travel. Proper maintenance of your garment is essential to the life of it. One of the things that I have used for years is a clergy garment bag. A vestment garment bag has been essential to my travel needs especially when I have clerical responsibilities when I travel.
Travel can be very hard on clothes, and having a proper bag or bags for your clergy robe can help maintain its health and keep it looking professional from place to place. Whether you are Roman Catholic, Episcopalian, or another denomination you should invest in a clergy robe garment bag to keep your vestments looking nice.
Not only are they great for traveling but they are also helpful in storage. A robe garment bag can fit well in a car or in your closet and keep it safe from any outside elements. I’ve spent a lot of money on my vestments, and I want to keep them looking nice as I move from place to place. While you are storing them it is helpful to put them in a garment bag in case something happens in your closet or church. I think having a clergy robe garment bag can cut back on the laundry and dry cleaning bill too!
There are a couple of clergy garment bags that I wanted to share with you in case you were looking to purchase one. You should definitely think about picking up a vestment travel bag if you are on the road a lot.
The first one is made by WallyBags. What I really like about this bag is the locking system it has. I’ve owned several different types of garment bags that I’ve used for robes and vestments, and it seemed like the my garments would always somehow fall to the bottom. Well with this unique locking system, hangers stay in their place! It actually holds up to six hangers giving you the ability to haul a lot more around. It also works really well for carrying on a plane. It is made from a heavy duty material that should last you a long time. It is 60” tall and 22” wide. A great choice if you are in the market for a nice travel bag for your vestments.

Another one that I particularly like is this one. While I’ve never owned this one, I’ve just known people that have owned it. They have all loved it! It is a little cheaper than the WallyBags, but it might not be made as sturdy. It folds in half, and is about the same size as the WallyBag. One reviewer mentioned “Roomy enough for extra large vestments in a compact bag. The handles allow it to be carried without dragging it on the floor. Garments were protected and did not wrinkle. Very nice features and better quality than expected.”
Unfortunately, it does not have the locking system like the WallyBag, but it ultimately should get the job done. I think your clergy robes and garments would be in great hands traveling or staying stored away in this bag. It has 4.5 star reviews and all the comments have been fairly positive online and in the church community.

The last one that I wanted to share with you is made by Garment Racks Etc. Lots of people love this and have gave it rave reviews. It is also the cheapest of the three! Another great feature of this one is that it longer than the other two. It is 65” long. If you need the extra room then this is the way to go! It has a 4 inch gusset for even more items to store. It is equipped with two handles and an accessory pocket. One purchaser mentioned, “This garment bag is just perfect to protect church vestments--lightweight, durable and inexpensive. Who could ask for anything more? I was so pleased I ordered another.”
Not too many people would buy two, but this customer was very impressed. Bottom line is that any of three will likely take good care of your garments and be a great clergy travel bag. The question you need to answer is how much do you want to spend and what quality are you looking for. If you are concerned with price then you should skip the WallBags, but if you are looking for quality then the WallyBags is the way to go (it has 600 Denier Polyester!). Remember it also locks your hangers and none of the other have that feature.

When you are in ministry it is important to look your best before the congregation and before God. A key to doing that is making sure that your vestments are properly taken care of. If you are in the ministry and wear vestments or clergy robes then you need to get yourself a bag!
